James Brown 'The Amazing James Brown'

James Brown 'The Amazing James Brown'

DKK 120.00

This essential release includes James Brown & The Famous Flames’ fourth LP for the King label, The Amazing James Brown (1961). The album helped define the primal nature of soul. It also offers a solid introduction into this man’s special brand of musical feeling – his passionate style, intense delivery and innovative R&B sound. Though not yet the innovator Brown would eventually become, he was every inch a righteous soul singer, even at this early stage in the game.

In addition to the original masterpiece, this collector’s edition on 180 gram vinyl also contains 4 bonus tracks from the same period – including the ballads “If You Want Me” and “I’ll Go Crazy,” the smash “Think,” and the danceable staple “Shout and Shimmy,” which remain essential to the James Brown catalogue and to R&B music of the early 1960s.
